It's because it's much more expensive to bring out the horsepower on an NA than it is to go with a TT. It's only 3 liters of displacement. When you have an NA car, displacement is king. On big old domestic V8's you can squeeze a lot more power out of them- they have a lot of displacement, and they don't breathe well at all when stock. Make them breathe better and you'll get a lot more HP. On NA Z's, you're pretty much stuck with 3 liters, it already has a high compression ratio and it already breathes pretty good. You're going to be hard pressed to get it to breathe that much better to make the expense worth it.
